Asbestos Removal – Asbestos was extensively used as a building material from the early 1900s until a final ban in 2006. It was used for a variety of purposes and was ideal for fireproofing and insulation. Any building built before the year 2006 (houses, factories, offices, schools, hospitals etc) can contain asbestos. Often asbestos materials have become damaged and repair or removal is required prior to refurbishment.
The first stage of any removal/ abatement is material sampling and Asbestos Removal conditional assessments. The surveys are required as part of the asbestos management plan for a property currently in use, or prior to major refurbishment or demolition. Many ACM’s (asbestos containing materials) remain in service both in domestic and commercial properties and so asbestos surveys are a critical requirement of buildings in use.Asbestos Removal
